A great read with unexpected plot twists and turns. I couldn't put it down, and this is not a genre that usually appeals to me. Give it a try, I think you'll enjoy it!
The book starts out with a young girl wondering about her life. As she unlocks what happened and what is happening it is totally unexpected. The story takes you into a dark place that is hidden beneath a false hope of happiness. The main characters are interesting and well developed. It's a story that holds your interest and makes it easy to keep turning the pages! I would recommend!
This historical suspense novel paints a vivid and detailed image of life for a young in the late 1800s. Lacey has lost her parents, and finds herself enrolled in the Harlan School for Young Ladies, but things are not as they appear. Lacey's suspicions grow, and at a time when women were treated more as property than people, her quest for answers is rebuffed. The conclusion has unexpected twists. The writing has a definite literary flare, allowing this novel to appeal to a wide range of readers.
